7 Teams Receive Get Seeded Grants in March

Seven student startup teams received milestone grants at the Get Seeded Final Pitch Event in March 2018 at Lassonde Studios. See below for a list of teams and their product ideas. Get Seeded is a monthly milestone grant funding program open to all college students in Utah. The first step is to apply online. Top teams advance to the Final Pitch Event, where they pitch to an audience that votes on who gets funded. All university students in Utah are welcome to apply for grants. Item Rescue – $2,000 – Prototyping

You’ve just checked out of the hotel and jumped in a pricey Uber to rush to the airport hoping to catch your flight, when all of the sudden you realize you’ve left your favorite T-shirt behind in the hotel bathroom. NapPack – $500 – Prototyping

The NapPack is designed to be a hybrid pack for those overnight-hiker types, but can be used by any opportunistic nomad napper. No longer will one have to settle for uncovered slumber in an emergency because NapPack is the knapsack with a nap sack. Sleeping mask sold separately.

Transbronchial Biopsy Needle – $1,700 – Prototyping

Trevor Hafer and Suzette Mastrangelo are taking on lung cancer with a new device designed to obtain high-quality lung tissue samples. The transbronchial biopsy needle is designed for faster diagnosis and better outcomes.

Medelicious – $655 – Marketing

These entrepreneurs know how important a healthy diet can be. Medelicious is attempting to bring healthy and delicious food to people in Salt Lake City. Mediterranean, halal, health food on demand!

Saving Every Drop – $600 – Prototyping

Mansour Al Hutaylah is a civil engineer working on an inexpensive device to help save water. With the press of a button, you can reroute your water to your garden or other areas to help recycle and reduce the water consumption in your house.

APXR Multimedia – $2,000 – Prototyping

After suffering a bitter defeat in last month’s round, APXR bounced back with an amazing pitch describing their cutting-edge VR business. By combining art pieces and VR experiences, they’re changing the way you experience events in VR.

MounTins – $1000 – Prototyping

Aaron Dobron and Austin Scaccianoce are bringing discounts to Park City restaurants in the form of coasters. Bring your own coaster (pre-purchased from MounTins) branded with the restaurant’s logo and get a discounted food or beverage item!
