GUEST TALK: Top 10 Lessons Learned from the Greatest Technologists of the Information Technology Age

Join a guest lecture to hear from Linda & David Bradford. The lecture is titled “The Top 10 Lessons Learned from the Greatest Technologists of the Information Technology Age.” They will draw on their interactions with highly influential personalities – from Bill Gates to Cindy Crawford – to share the most important insights for a society driven by science, technology, and entrepreneurship. As a female leader and innovator in the tech industry, Dr. Linda Bradford will also offer her perspective on the opportunities that are available for women in STEM disciplines. The event will be at 4-5 p.m. in the JWB (John Widstoe Building) Room 335.

Bios:

Dr. Linda Bradford is a life-long advocate of education, having taught from the elementary school level all the way up to higher education. Her master’s degree is in art education and her Ph.D. is in instructional psychology and technology. In 2008, she founded the VIEW (Virtual Immersive Educational World), the most advanced 3-D virtual university on the planet. She is also chairman of the board of FluentWorlds, which is advancing language training in 3-D virtual worlds.

David Bradford is a proven business leader with over 35 years of experience in the computer industry. He is the CEO of FluentWorlds and has previously served as CEO and Chairman of HireVue, a leader in digital interviewing. Prior to his work at HireVue, Mr. Bradford served as CEO and Chairman of Fusion-io, a pioneer of a new storage memory platform. In October of 2013, Bradford was inducted into the Utah Technology Hall of Fame. David has been nicknamed the “Human Internet.”
