Lassonde's Workshops provide specialized training from industry professionals to students.

Utah Entrepreneur Series Workshop Kickoff!

More than 70 students from the University of Utah came to participate in the first Skill Workshop hosted by the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute. The event was a major success, demonstrating that the interest for entrepreneurship, along with taking advantage of resources provided by the Lassonde Institute, is growing rapidly across campus.

The turnout was great for the first event of the year and we were able to get a lot of students from all across campus,said Taylor Daily, director of workshops for the Lassonde Institute. “It is awesome because we got students from different majors to come together to learn and network.He added that this was one of the aims of the workshop.

Skill Workshops are free, professionally taught workshops that provide students with the opportunity to learn a wide range of valuable professional skills. The event featured six different workshops that covered a variety of topics from prototyping and 3-D printing to information on intellectual patent law.

  • Intro to code and web development
  • Prototyping and 3D printing
  • Collision of business and design
  • Discovering the internet of things
  • Getting started as an entrepreneur
  • Intellectual and patent law
