University of Utah business undergraduate student Jaron Hall wants to bring new technology to the outdated residential cleaning industry with his company Utah Maids.
Traditionally, when somebody wants their home cleaned with their standard local cleaning company, they need to call the company on the phone, tell them specific details about their home like square footage, and then have somebody come out to their home to view it before they can schedule a clean. In a day when anybody can hail a ride to any destination from your phone, Hall thought that this cleaning industry was outdated.
With Utah Maids, anybody can book a home cleaning in 60 seconds or less from their mobile device or desktop computer, and they don’t have to talk to anybody on the phone or know detailed information about their home. The customer selects the date, time and type of cleaning they want, and then a maid will arrive on the scheduled date.
For the past few semesters, Hall has received help from the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute by attending numerous workshops, meetups, and getting consulting and feedback from helpful Lassonde student leaders and staff members.
