The Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute welcomed L10, the tenth group of student residents at Lassonde Studios, for the 2025-26 academic year recently. This diverse group will “live, create, launch” together in this unique building for student entrepreneurs and innovators at the University of Utah.
All students at the University of Utah are welcome at Lassonde Studios, which has event and innovation space for all students on the first floor. Only 400 are selected to live on the upper floors each year after a competitive application process. Residents are known as the “Lassonde 400.”
“I like living at Lassonde Studios because it provides a multitude of resources everywhere I look,” said Charles Powell, a Lassonde resident from Broomfield, Colo., studying business and Spanish. “I feel substantially connected to my campus and excited knowing that there are plenty of opportunities to grow both professionally and personally.”
Here are facts about the L10 residents:

She is studying marketing. “Lassonde is such an amazing place to live,” she said. “You can create things to change the world and create community. Also, it’s so easy to get to know the people in Lassonde. Really just feels like a family.”
Sydney Booksby is also living at Lassonde. She is from Heber City, Utah, and studying biology. “I like living at Lassonde Studio because bold ideas are not only welcome, but fiercely loved and supported by the leadership of the Lassonde community,” she said.
Lassonde Studios has been featured by publications from around the world, including The New York Times and Fast Company, and it was named by Architectural Digest as one of the nine best university buildings in the world.
