Finding credible businesses in Africa can be challenging. Recognizing this issue, Ghanaian entrepreneur Tsonam Cleanse Akpeloo created Kadodo Africa — a platform designed specifically to profile, authenticate, and boost the visibility of African businesses, making them more trustworthy and accessible to customers, investors, and partners.
To ensure Kadodo Africa’s steady and well-planned growth, Akpeloo enrolled in the Master of Business Creation Global program at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business. The program helped refine the company’s strategy, business model, and marketing plans, laying a solid foundation for future expansion.
Kadodo Africa isn’t your average business directory. It offers features like product showcases, job listings, and targeted advertising tailored to over 20 distinct industries. By thoroughly verifying and profiling each business listed, Kadodo creates a trustworthy environment that simplifies cross-border trade and investment opportunities under the African Continental Free Trade Area.
Akpeloo noticed that many African businesses struggle with limited visibility and credibility, often operating in isolation. His motivation was clear: bridge the gap between African businesses and wider markets.
“Our goal for Kadodo is to ensure that at least 80% of African businesses have a Kadodo badge or seal, making them credible for international business,” Akpeloo said.
Kadodo Africa’s pilot project verified more than 150 businesses in Ghana, proving that there’s real demand for such a service. This early success demonstrated the value Kadodo could bring to African companies aiming for greater market exposure.
In the future, Kadodo Africa aims to become the essential platform for businesses across Africa by:
- Making intra-African trade easier through straightforward business verification.
- Offering local businesses digital tools for showcasing products and finding talent.
- Working alongside governments and investors to provide reliable business insights.
- Developing an interconnected Pan-African business environment to encourage growth and collaboration.
“In five years, Kadodo should be a well-known name throughout Africa, delivering excellent technology solutions especially tailored for small and medium sized enterprises,” Akpeloo said.
Kadodo Africa is already looking beyond the African continent. “We are exploring opportunities in Europe and the US. We’ve begun the registration processes in Estonia and have recently been investigating incorporation possibilities in London County,” Akpeloo said.
