Visibylity: A Creative Marketing Partner Built for Small Business Owners

As a kid growing up in Salt Lake City, Garrett Petersen was always building something. In addition to his creativity, Petersen has always had a drive to help others. Over the past decade, Petersen has translated these passions into video and photo production, and now into Visibylity, a creative marketing partner for small- to medium-sized businesses.

Petersen strengthened his entrepreneurial spirit as a resident of the Lassonde Studios, a student innovation and entrepreneurship dorm at the University of Utah, while pursuing an undergraduate degree in entrepreneurship at the David Eccles School of Business. He is now enrolled in the Master of Business Creation program at the Eccles school, where he is directly applying classroom principles to accelerate his company. In this program, growing a business is not Petersen’s only goal. He hopes to prove to himself that he can take an idea and create something that is of significant service to others.

In 2024, while working for a family-run electrical engineering company, Petersen found the roadblocks the company was facing weren’t due to a lack of skill or dedication — it was a lack of infrastructure. The company’s systems, website, and advertising were outdated and underdeveloped. Small- to medium-sized businesses (SMBs), including many family-owned businesses, don’t always have the capacity to stay on top of these issues, and they can directly affect the company’s ability to keep customers. Seeing this, Petersen began brainstorming solutions to help these businesses. That’s when Visibylity began to take shape.

Petersen said, “I really want to be known as a partner for these businesses.”

Visibylity allows owners to offload some of the heavier, monotonous tasks so that the owner can focus on their craft. Petersen describes his approach as “sitting on the same side of the table as the owner.” He aims to stand out by homing in on SMBs and designing offerings in which he wins when the owner wins.

Visibylity’s core offerings include a launch package, which covers brand imaging, website development, and content creation. It also offers a SaaS model that helps build a customer relationship management (CRM) platform to better track clients, manage projects, set up automations, and save a significant amount of time.

Within the year, Visibylity’s goal is to focus on key metrics that will improve its output and onboard a few dozen SMBs. Petersen’s aim for Visibylity is to become the platform that gives owners independence and room to scale.

By modernizing branding, implementing automations, and creating scalable systems, Visibylity allows owners to grow on their timeline. And most importantly, it gives owners the time to focus on what they do best.
