Mya Oetinger, a marketing student at the University of Utah, has taken full advantage of all the opportunities at Lassonde Studios. In fact, her acceptance to be a resident at Lassonde Studios is the reason Oetinger attended the University of Utah.
Lassonde has shaped her experience on campus because she was able to live in a community that is very personable. Oetinger said, “Living here is very hands-on, and a fun environment. It feels like everyone here actually really cares about one another and wants to see each other succeed.”
Within Oetinger’s time living at Lassonde she has gotten involved in Lassonde Founders, Get Seeded, freelance marketing, and has also been a residential advisor. Living at Lassonde Studios has helped Oetinger expand her experience personally and academically.
Mya’s involvement as a freelance marketer has allowed her to get involved in social media assignments, tabling projects, and writing articles. Through being an RA Mya has learned how to be confident and direct while also hosting some of the most fun socials in the building.
“Lassonde has opportunities for marketing and entrepreneurship which has allowed me to advance my public speaking, networking, confidence in professionalism and so much more,” Oetinger said.
Oetinger stated that her experience is unique to the on campus living experience because, “It isn’t just a dorm it is an experience. It will really help launch you into your future and career goals. You are not going to forget the people here, it really feels like home.”
