Enter Your Idea to Win $30,000 in Cash & Scholarships

Do you want to explore innovative and creative entrepreneurship? Do you have an idea that could change the world? The Tim Draper High School Utah Entrepreneur Challenge (HSUEC) is your opportunity to showcase your innovation and entrepreneurial spirit and win cash and prizes. This competition is the high school counterpart of the Tim Draper Utah Entrepreneur Challenge. All Utah high school students, ages 14-18, are encouraged to compete. The program is managed by the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute at the University of Utah. Sponsors include Tim Draper, a renowned venture capitalist. Students who have graduated high school or are enrolled full-time in college courses are not eligible to participate in the competition. These students are encouraged to participate in the collegiate Tim Draper Utah Entrepreneur Challenge.

  • Application Opens Online: Sept. 10, 2025
  • Online Information Sessions: Sept. 25, 2025, 4-4:45 p.m.; Oct. 30, 2025, 4-4:45 p.m.; Nov. 20, 2025, 4-4:45 p.m.; Dec. 11, 2025, 4-4:45 p.m.
  • Application Deadline: Jan. 14, 2026, 11:59 p.m.
  • Online Judging: Jan. 19-30, 2026
  • Top 20 Finalists Announced: Feb. 2, 2026, 5 p.m.
  • Top 20 Video Submission Deadline: Feb. 9, 2026, 11:59 p.m.
  • Public Online Voting: Feb. 10-27, 2026, 11:59 p.m.
  • Competition Final Event: Feb. 28, 2026, 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. (public awards & showcase is 2-3:30 p.m.)
