A Personal Touch to Wedding Photography

Riley Knautz, a marketing major at the University of Utah, is transforming the world of destination wedding and elopement photography with a deeply personal approach. Through her business, Capturedbyrileyk, she focuses on more than just taking beautiful photos. Instead, she builds relationships with her clients, ensuring their wedding day is as meaningful and stress-free as possible.

For Knautz, photography is about connection. She believes that every couple deserves a photographer who truly cares about their story, which is why she takes the time to be a friend, guide, and trusted support system. From welcome gifts to planning guides, she provides resources that help her couples feel confident leading up to their big day.

“The bottom line is that I offer everything all the other photographers do, but I care more. You’ll get stunning images and everything you’d expect from a luxury wedding photographer, but what truly sets me apart is the level of care, attention, and thought I put into every aspect of a bride’s experience. You’re getting a wedding guide, wedding planning spreadsheets, and much more when you book with me. My whole heart goes into documenting one of the most important times in your life and telling your story,” Knautz said.

Knautz is currently focused on rebranding her business to accommodate traveling and planning destination weddings and elopements to give couples the chance to celebrate their love in breathtaking locations. Whether capturing an intimate mountain elopement or a seaside wedding, Knautz prioritizes creating an experience that allows couples to be fully present in the moment. Her tagline, “This is going to be the best day ever,” reflects the excitement and care she brings to every event.

As a member of Lassonde+X, an entrepreneurial experience program at the University of Utah, Knautz has refined her business strategy and build connections with other creative professionals. The program has helped her strengthen Capturedbyrileyk into more than just a photography brand. It has become a service designed to provide couples with a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Through her passion for people and storytelling, Knautz is redefining what it means to be a wedding photographer; she is offering couples not just timeless images but a partner in making their wedding day unforgettable.
