HelloGM Acquired by Otelier

Co-founders Viral Shah and Dhaval Chokshi are making waves with their startup HelloGM, after graduating from the Master of Business Creation (MBC) program at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business in 2021. The company, which provides an innovative data analytics platform for hotels, recently sold the business and merged with Otelier (formally called MyDigitalOffice), an information management system for the hospitality industry.

The terms of the acquisition are confidential, but the co-founders said it was a significant transaction and a major step forward for their business. They are part of the team at Otelier and working to develop their software to help hotels around the world.

“We are very excited to be working with Otelier to improve how hotels manage their business data and have a greater impact in the hospitality industry,” Shah said. “We were able to grow our business rapidly with the help of the Master of Business Creation program. We are now looking forward to being part of a larger company and all of the resources and connections that will provide.”

Born from a simple idea to boost profits for small to medium-sized hotel businesses, HelloGM’s interface produces powerful solutions for businesses. It empowers hotel owners by leveraging the strength of data, seamlessly optimizing all crucial operations needed to create and maintain a thriving hotel business.

The acquisition by Otelier underscores the efforts and strategic moves made by the team that have allowed HelloGM to deliver superior solutions to hoteliers around the globe. Shah is hopeful about HelloGM’s future under the wing of Otelier, expecting the company to become a leader of data analytics for hoteliers.

Shah’s experience in the Master of Business Creation program, which helps entrepreneurs grow their businesses, proved invaluable for their success. The guidance of accomplished mentors through the program provided confidence and direction to steer HelloGM’s business strategy. Shah said he was grateful for the stewardship and support offered by the program.

Shah offered advice to up-and-coming entrepreneurs within and outside of the MBC program. “To the budding entrepreneurs, remember that crafting a successful business is a journey, not a sprint,” he said. “Don’t let the early victories of others cast a shadow over your path. If your belief in your business idea is unwavering, all you need to arm yourself with are two powerful allies – patience and perseverance.”
