The David Eccles School of Business offers an undergraduate Interdisciplinary Certificate in Entrepreneurship designed for non-business majors. The Certificate’s innovative and highly collaborative curriculum is intended to complement any major, and teaches students how to create, test, and launch new ventures. What are capstone courses?
Capstone courses are designed to give opportunities for students to demonstrate that they have achieved the goals for learning established by their educational institution and major department. You must complete (1) of the following capstone courses to complete the certificate:
- UGS 4820: Capstone
- COMM 5170: Evidence-Based Management I
- COMM 5880: Evidence-Based Management II
- HIST 5100: Internship in Public History
- WRTG 4001: Business Plans and Proposals
… or complete the following (2) courses
UGS 3050 and UGS 3051
*Business Students must take their capstone course outside of the business school
What are options courses?
Option courses are course taught by partner colleges outside the David Eccles School of Business. You must complete (1) of the following option courses to complete the certificate:

Are there prerequisites; could I take more than one?
There are no prerequisites, although we do recommend starting from ENTP 1010 in order to have the most transformative entrepreneurial experience.
If I’m a business (or pre-business) student, can I apply?
Yes, the certificate is open to all majors.
Really, I get general education credit for these entrepreneurship classes?
Yes, ENTP 1010 fulfills (BF) general elective requirement; and ENTP 1020 fulfills (AS) general elective requirement.
