The Lassonde Ambassador and Mentor Program helps high school students explore higher education at the University of Utah. Started in 2014, the program provides university students with scholarships to serve as Lassonde Ambassadors. They act as peer mentors by hosting presentations, workshops, one-on-one meetings, class visits and more. Special emphasis is given to helping first-generation, high-school students explore careers and educations related to innovation, entrepreneurship and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math). Created in 2014, the Lassonde Ambassador and Mentor Program is a student-run initiative focused on helping high school students explore higher education at the University of Utah. Each ambassador receives a scholarship to connect with high school students and act as a peer mentor. The outreach opportunities available include hosting classroom presentations, workshops, class visits, tours/field trips, service projects, tabling events, and more. Special emphasis is given to helping first-generation, high-school students explore careers and opportunities related to innovation, entrepreneurship and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math).
