The Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute just added two new ambassador programs for students interested in spreading the word about entrepreneurship and innovation and getting more students involved. Participating students receive scholarships. Applications are currently be accepted for the 2014-2015 school year. The deadline for applications for both programs is May 1, 2014.
The first program, the Lassonde Ambassador and Mentor Program, will provide students with scholarships to help inspire low-income and first-generation students to pursue educations and careers related to entrepreneurship, innovation and STEM fields (science, technology, engineering and math). The ambassadors and mentors host presentations, workshops and campus visits for high school students. Collaborating partners include TRiO/Educational Opportunity Programs, Opportunity Scholars, Utah College Advising Corps and Beacon Scholars. The second program, the Lassonde Outreach and Marketing Ambassador Program, provides students with marketing experience by representing the Lassonde Institute and its programs at a wide variety of events, workshops and class visits. This leadership opportunity will provide students the opportunity to be part of a growing innovation and entrepreneurship community. Students with an interest in photography, film, public relations and writing will have a unique opportunity to contribute to the production of the campus student innovation report (find past issues here).
