More than 70 students from the University of Utah came to participate in the first Skill Workshop hosted by the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute. The event was a major success, demonstrating that the interest for entrepreneurship, along with taking advantage of resources provided by the Lassonde Institute, is growing rapidly across campus.
“The turnout was great for the first event of the year and we were able to get a lot of students from all across campus,” said Taylor Daily, director of workshops for the Lassonde Institute. “It is awesome because we got students from different majors to come together to learn and network.” He added that this was one of the aims of the workshop.
Skill Workshops are free, professionally taught workshops that provide students with the opportunity to learn a wide range of valuable professional skills. The event featured six different workshops that covered a variety of topics from prototyping and 3-D printing to information on intellectual patent law.

- Getting started as an entrepreneur
