Three student startup teams received $4,500 in Get Seeded milestone grants in the round ending in June 2023. See below for a list of teams and their product ideas.
The final pitch event for regular grants was held at Lassonde Studios. It included live startup pitches, free food, and public voting to determine the grant recipients.
Get Seeded is a milestone grant funding program open to all students at the University of Utah. Students requesting more than $500 follow a three-step process, concluding at the final pitch event. Students requesting $500 or less — called microgrants — are funded after a two-step process.
All University of Utah students are welcome to apply for grants. The first step is to apply online.
The program is managed by the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute at the University of Utah and sponsored by Tom and Kim Litle and Chad and Kristen Anselmo.

Regular Grants
Oaty Toaty – $1,500
Oaty Toaty is a healthy snack company focused on producing allergen-friendly snacks. Their first product lineup is granola. It’s made with nourishing ingredients and comes in flavors such as cinnamon coconut and PB and J. Oaty Toaty aims to help people eat healthy while keeping snacking fun and tasty. Their snacks will be made with less-processed and allergen-friendly ingredients compared to other brands. Oaty Toaty wants to make healthy eating tasty, accessible, and enjoyable.
Ubike Go – $1,500
Ubike Go streamlines the campus life for university students. Specifically designed to meet students’ needs, it offers an efficient solution for those striving to meet their academic and extracurricular commitments promptly. With Ubike Go, students can reach their destination within minutes, maintaining their independence, while eliminating the hassle, cost, and fatigue of daily commutes. This service ensures minimal effort on their part and promotes an enhanced quality of life.
Yubedo – $1,500
Yubedo tackles the complexity and exclusivity of real-estate investing. For many, this sector feels inaccessible and confusing. Yubedo simplifies this landscape by offering a platform that combines clear education with advanced technology. Their solution uses machine learning to generate personalized property recommendations based on users’ unique investment goals, making real estate investing approachable for a broader audience.
