Three student startup teams received $6,920 in milestone grants at the monthly Get Seeded Final Pitch Event at Lassonde Studios on Jan. 28. See below for a list of teams and their product ideas.
Get Seeded is a monthly milestone grant funding program open to all college students in Utah. The first step is to apply online. Top teams advance to the Final Pitch Event, where they pitch to an audience that votes on who gets funded. All university students in Utah are welcome to apply for grants.
The program is managed by the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute at the University of Utah and sponsored by Zions Bank.
MounTins — $2,500
MounTins received their fourth round of funding for a product launch and media campaign! MounTins connects diners with some of the best restaurants in Park City by providing a $10 discount at 10 select locations. Customers purchase collectible tins containing unique coasters. The coasters correspond to different dining locations and are turned in at the time of purchase to redeem the discount.
SHERO — $2,500
SHERO is striving to create a 100-percent biodegradable pad for women. SHERO’s feminine products will stand apart from their competitors by using an adhesive that has a degradation period of less than six months. The funding the team received this round will go towards researching and creating an adhesive solution.
PureWare — $1,920
PureWare is bringing consumers a wholly new option for reusable flatware. The 100-percent recyclable tool will provide users with a traditional, full-size utensil experience from the convenience of your pocket. The funds from this round will move PureWare towards a CAD model and full prototype.
