Company Launch Startup Teams for Fall 2019

Meet the startup teams in our Company Launch program at Lassonde Studios for fall 2019. Find a complete list below. They range from sleep tech to water purification.

Company Launch is a startup support program that offers office space at Lassonde Studios, peer coaches, professional mentors, and more. All students at the University of Utah are welcome to apply to join the program. Startups are admitted every semester.

The program is managed by the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute and sponsored by Zions Bank.

Fall 2019 Startups

Beacon Sleep Solutions is a company providing solutions for the millions of underserved patients in sleep medicine who currently don’t have ways to help them through their sleeping disturbances.

Camspire is a jewelry company that created to spread awareness for suicide and depression by spreading inspiration and positivity. Camspire makes jewelry, customized greeting cards, and T-shirts.

Clockwork Forge makes role-playing videogames in the Unity Engine. The first is Hyperborean Charter.

Conifer Software designs, develops, and manages software for network marketing companies, which track and manage inventory sales and commissions. It plans to sell directly to contractors as well as commercial licenses to network marketing companies.

Coweb is bringing corporate-level project-management software, grounded in educational psychology, into the pockets of higher-ed students. It aims to increase student engagement, productivity, and comprehension with tools like calendar synchronization, an evolving skills inventory, task management, and a campus-wide digital bulletin board.

Cultural Curiosity plans to provide educational services and experiences for its customers through the wonders of the world. It plans to create products that teach an individual or group about countries and cultures with a deeper understanding and appreciation for the people, religions, and customs of a country.

ExploreWell Yoga is focused on making yoga more available and convenient and fun! ExploreWell Yoga makes yoga what you want it to be: one-on-one with the instructor and specialized for your wants and needs.

GAIA is a collaborative of talented engineers across the country focused on restoring function to people with limb differences. Since its inception in 2018, GAIA has worked to improve the functionality of prosthetic sensors and actuators by taking innovative approaches to the long-established problem of prosthetic embodiment.

H2ONE is a water-purification device for the on-the-go backpacker. By using battery-power from a cell phone and a more efficient ultraviolet purification methods we are able to reduce size, weight, ease of use, sterilization time, and price.

Ike Scientific is currently a freelance scientific-consulting firm that specializes in nanotechnology, materials science, and biotechnology.

Interwoven is a board game/digital game design company.

Kingdomworks is a software company that is launching its first app, Gathr. Gathr is an online web and mobile application to increase engagement between a church/non-profit/other religious group and its members.

Little Wanderers Studios is attempting to celebrate the diversity of thought through the creation of fun and entertaining experiences that promote awareness and critical outlooks on the world surrounding the players — inside the game and out.

PATCH slc is a multidisciplinary design studio that focuses on creating design solutions for startups. Digital products and graphic design are our specialties.

Project Embrace is an international medical nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing access to healthcare for all through the collection, sanitation, and redistribution of gently used medical equipment to patients in low-resource settings.

Sentient Academy is an online art academy that offers arts and design education at a flexible and affordable manner. Engaging and effective courses taught by top industry professionals.

Skepsi is focused on bringing advanced artificial intelligence solutions to the medical field. It is currently developing diagnostic tools for use in histopathology, which will be used to assist in the correct diagnoses of skin conditions. It hopes to greatly improve the quality of patient care by improving diagnostic accuracy and minimizing the time needed to obtain said diagnoses.

Spero Technologies is determined to establish a company intended to develop technology that will provide better, more accessible treatments and medications to all those in need. Its first target medication is insulin, a protein necessary for the survival of all type 1 diabetics and some type 2 diabetics.
