Get Seeded Awards $6,850 in Grants in March

Four student startup teams received $6,850 in milestone grants at the monthly Get Seeded Final Pitch Event at Lassonde Studios on March 25. See below for a list of teams and their product ideas.

Get Seeded is a monthly milestone grant funding program open to all college students in Utah. The first step is to apply online. Top teams advance to the Final Pitch Event, where they pitch to an audience that votes on who gets funded. All university students in Utah are welcome to apply for grants.

The program is managed by the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute at the University of Utah and sponsored by Zions Bank.

Other Half App

Other Half App — $2,500

Other Half combines socializing with discounts. By using this app and taking a friend to one of the many locations in the Salt Lake Valley, users of Other Half App unlock premium discounts. With this round of funding, Other Half will be able to offer an expanded selection of discounts at even more locations!

Momentum

Momentum

Momentum — $2,000

Momentum strives to help people who have a gap in their resume validate the time spent away from the workplace. Targeting women, Momentum is on a mission to help employers hire a more diverse, qualified workforce.

Myoplexer

Myoplexer — $1,600

Myoplexer understands that there is a need for an affordable, high quality and responsive prosthetic for below-elbow, upper-limb amputees. With the funds from this month, Myoplexer will be able to validate their cybernetic prosthetic with amputees.

Yuteai

Yuteai — $750

Yuteai’s goal is to become the premier purveyor of Bandai Gundam Model Kits. They plan to start by distributing within the state of Utah at local specialty shops and expand. Yuteai plans to capitalize on the 2020 Summer Olympics being held in Japan.
