If you have a business idea and you plan on pitching it to a competition or an investor, chances are you will have to create a document like an executive summary. Time and time again, startups can have a really good idea, but they may not quite understand how to structure their thoughts and focus on the core problem during their pitch. The Lassonde Institute has many competitions where you need to submit an executive summary or a business model, such as the Opportunity Quest competition and the Utah Entrepreneur Challenge competition. Troy D’ambrosio, the executive director of the Lassonde Institute, teaches students how to write an executive summary in this workshop.
