U of Utah Recruiting the ‘400 Best Student Entrepreneurs’

The University of Utah launched an ambitious plan today to recruit the “400 best student entrepreneurs” to live in the new, $45 million Lassonde Studios building starting fall 2016. The one-of-a-kind facility will feature living “pods” and a unique blend of space for making, starting companies and living.

Utah’s Best College Entrepreneurs Compete for $40,000

Utah’s best college entrepreneurs have been narrowed to the top-20 teams that advance to the final event of the 2015 Utah Entrepreneur Challenge later this month. The annual, state-wide, business-plan competition is hosted by the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute at the University of Utah and sponsored by Zions Bank.

Bacteria-Zapping Catheter Eradicates Competition at Opportunity Quest

University of Utah student startup Light Line Catheter won first place and $5,000 at the University of Utah’s Opportunity Quest executive-summary business-plan competition recently. The team competed with an innovative catheter that uses UV light to kill bacteria that can cause potentially fatal infections to users.
