Get Seeded Awards 7 Grants in April

Seven student startup teams received milestone grants at the Get Seeded Final Pitch Event in April 2018 at Lassonde Studios. See below for a list of teams and their product ideas. Get Seeded is a monthly milestone grant funding program open to all college students in Utah. The first step is to apply online. Top teams advance to the Final Pitch Event, where they pitch to an audience that votes on who gets funded. All university students in Utah are welcome to apply for grants. Counter Culture Kombucha – $1,928 – Product Launch (purpose)

Ty Eldridge, a full-time MBA student at the University of Utah, has found a creative combination of gym rats and kombucha drinkers as an untapped market in Salt Lake City. Coming soon to a gym near you, checkout Counter Culture Kombucha.

Peregrine House – $2,000 – Prototyping

K-12 schools face a challenge when it comes to book fairs. The products offered are often marketing materials for popular shows and cartoons. Peregrine House is a mobile bookstore that plans on offering high-quality literature to kids in the Salt Lake Valley.

Bitrageous – $1,869 – Prototyping

Gene Peterson, an MBA student at the University of Utah, is starting an independent video game studio. He’s launching his first game, Undaunted. Check it out at bitrageous.io.

Medelicious – $1,199 – Marketing

These entrepreneurs know how important a healthy diet can be. Medelicious is attempting to bring healthy and delicious food to people in Salt Lake City. Mediterranean, halal, health food on demand!

Other Half App – $2,000 – Prototyping

The Other Half App, developed by Brigham Jackson, is bringing discounts to you and your friends. By using this social app with your friend, you can find BOGO discounts at many of your favorite places! Download it now for iOS.

Wound Management – $1,350 – Prototyping

A team of bioengineers at the University of Utah are working on a superficial wound-management system. They hope to prevent hospital complications and improve patient outcomes.

Vital Sign 6 – $1,950 – Prototyping

Vital Sign 6 is working on a smart wearable technology to detect post-surgery complications. By implementing a turn-key device, they’re making vital signs much easier to track.
